When you love your home, your views, and your neighbors, why move? A remodel made sense for this family as they were transitioning from the young kids stage to the young-adult kids who needed more hangout and gathering space. For a family that loves to cook and entertain, the kitchen is the heart of the home. The previous layout had clunky diagonal dual islands, and an awkward corner pantry. In the design and programming phase, we wanted to simplify all the confusing angles to create symmetry, balance, and an intuitive space plan. We made conscious design choices that added interior architectural interest in the millwork and architectural features. The clients were striving for that timeless home that will take them into their next phase of empty nesters, many years down the road.
